The studio is located on the periphery of Urbana, IL and surrounded on all sides by rural landscape.  This ever-transforming scene is what I look to for inspiration and painting solutions. 

Strangely enough, I find the winter months the most exciting when the land has been cleared and the vast, empty fields are interrupted only by an occasional farmhouse or leafless tree grove.  The snow settles into the crop remnants and mingles with the pitch black earth.

Every day is different and every time of day is more different still.
